What is contents only insurance?
Contents insurance will only cover the items in the property that aren’t part of the structure. You will need separate buildings insurance to cover the structural aspects of the property.

If a tenant damages the contents of your property, you could file a claim against their security deposit. If the cost of the damage is more than the security deposit, you may need to claim on your landlord contents insurance.

You will need to make a list of all the contents in your rental property and their estimated value. Take the estimated value from receipts or from searching for similar items on the internet.

What is the difference between landlord contents insurance and tenant contents insurance?
Landlord contents insurance covers the contents of the rental property supplied by the landlord, such as furniture and appliances. Whereas tenant contents insurance covers the contents of the tenant's belongings like clothing, electronics, and jewellery.

Do I need contents insurance for my tenant's belongings?
