CIA Landlord Insurance Honda in good shape for Aragon

CIA Landlord Insurance Honda head to the third round of the World Supersport Championship this weekend as the series arrives in Europe at Motorland Aragon in Spain.

Jules Cluzel arrives at the 5.077km circuit just outside the historic town of Alcañiz in confident mood and eager to put the disappointment of the previous two rounds behind him.  He said: “I am looking forward to this race because at the first two rounds we were good, we just had some bad luck but I am sure that will turn and we will be able to score some points and hopefully win.  The bike is strong in Aragon and the circuit is amazing so I’m excited to go there.”

Hikari Okubo achieved his best WSS result of sixth place last time out in Thailand and he is determined to produce another personal best result at the fast and challenging Motorland Aragon.  Hikari said: “My collarbone is feeling good so I can push more in Aragon.  I am very happy and I think I can go to the next step.”

Robin Mulhauser is equally determined to improve this weekend in Spain with the Swiss rider keen to build upon the points scoring finish achieved at only his second WSS race in Thailand, he said: “Aragon is one of my favourite tracks.  I think this weekend could be really interesting for us.  I’m very impatient to put my wheels on the track!”

Joining them for his first outing with CIA Landlord Insurance Honda will be Japan’s Hiromichi Kunikawa contesting the European Supersport Championship, he said: “Aragon is my first race with CIA Landlord Insurance Honda and we will work very hard and give our best effort for the best results.  I want to thank everyone for all the support.”

CIA Landlord Insurance Honda Team Manager, Simon Buckmaster said: “We arrive at Aragon in good shape.  Effectively we were the fastest team in the first two rounds but circumstances played a part in Jules not scoring points.  We have investigated these circumstances and together as a team we will work hard to make sure this doesn’t happen again.  It was a shame that the situation in Thailand overshadowed what was a fantastic ride by Hikari.  There was no way he was fully fit then but he is now and he is confident after his first top six finish.  Robin is also in a good place after his top ten finish in his second WSS race.  We welcome Hiromichi to CIA Landlord Insurance Honda this weekend and while he’s had no opportunity to test he has been to Aragon before so doesn’t need to learn the circuit.  We have no expectation on him this weekend, we will just settle him in to the team and work with him to keep improving.  We are looking forward to it.”
